Dear Citizens and voters of Hooksett,
The Town Council, working in conjunction with the Town Administrator, has prepared and presented this information for the benefit of the voters. The Council has given careful consideration to each article prior to its presentation and encourages voters to familiarize themselves with the warrant items and their value to the community.
Voters are advised that certain warrant articles will have no additional impact on the tax rate, as funds have already been reserved for those purposes. Where applicable, this information is noted within the explanation of the individual warrant article.
As in prior budget cycles, the Town Administrator and Department Heads collaboratively develop the proposed budget through a detailed planning process. Once completed, the budget is presented to the Town Council for review and scrutiny. Following Council review, the proposed budget is forwarded to the Budget Committee, which may recommend additions or deletions as part of its review.
This process is undertaken with the goal of minimizing the financial impact on taxpayers while continuing to meet the needs of the community. Should all warrant articles be approved, the town portion of the tax rate is projected to increase by $1.09. This reflects the continued diligence and commitment of the Town Administrator and Department Heads.
The Town Council and the Town Administrator are available to answer questions regarding the warrant articles and the budget. Complete cost details for the warrant and operating budget are available on the Town of Hooksett website.
As in previous years, the Hooksett Town Council will continue to present detailed information regarding the financial requirements for Fiscal Year 2026–2027. We do so while striving to maintain the forward progress that helps keep Hooksett a desirable community in which to live and prosper. The Hooksett Town Council appreciates the opportunity to present this report to the residents of our community.
Respectfully submitted,
Timothy Tsantoulis, Council Chairman on behalf of the Hooksett Town Council
